100 Thoughtful Questions, part two

Continued from yesterday, 100 Thoughtful Questions.  Just when you thought it was safe to refresh your blogroll....b-BAM!  Enjoy...

  • What’s the best route to your heart?  Making me laugh.  It's a cliche, again, but usually I'm the one making people laugh.  If you can make ME laugh, that's something.

  • Have you ever met someone through the internet, then met them in real life?  My "older brother" I never had is someone I met in a chat room when I turned 14.  We still text almost daily, even though we've only met in real life once.  He's coming to visit me this summer and I'm so excited!

  • What is your favorite sport?  I don't play sports, but I can usually get myself excited about almost any sporting event, if need be.  Baseball, because my brother plays (and I understand most of the rules).  Football, because it brings back fond marching band memories.  Hockey, because my brother played for a while, and my family really enjoys it.

  • What has been troubling you lately?  A lot of major life upheaval - job stress, money stuff, being pulled in a million different directions.

  • Did you enjoy your high school prom? If you haven’t gotten there yet, do you look forward to it? If you didn’t go, why not?  I didn't go because...well, I guess I was afraid of having a normal high school experience.

  • What do you use more often: your intuition or logical reasoning?  I prize logic, but I think I have a very good intuition and sometimes it can throw me for a loop.

  • Do you know what makes you happy?  Tons of things.  And the best thing is, I'm constantly searching for new things that make me happy.

  • Tell me about the last book you read.  I'm always re-reading Eccentric Glamour: Creating an Insanely More Fabulous You.  Strong recommend.

  • What is the nicest compliment you’ve ever been given?  My review for The Master Builder.

  • Who was your first crush?  Roger Rabbit.

  • Do you believe that there is life on other planets?  Considering how vast the universe is, it's highly likely there MUST be, right?

  • Predict what your life will look like a year from now.  HOPEFULLY - living in a large studio apartment a hundred blocks further downtown, working a steady job I enjoy and performing often.

  • Often, people will ask how your last relationship ended. I want to know how it began.  I met a guy at an audition, he pursued me.

  • Where is your favorite place to go out and eat?  Saggio, Pazza Notte, or Tout Va Bien!  Italian, Italian, and French.  Hmmm...

  • What is something you want to change about your current situation?  My job.  I would love a job where I felt like I could use my talents and share my passions.  I feel like I'm inching steadily closer, but I await the day...

  • Early bird or night owl?  Whatever I can get.

  • Are there any childhood possessions you still hold on to?  My parents are kind enough to be storing the vast majority at their house, which I am slowly sorting through!  When I can.

  • Give me an unpopular opinion you have.  Religion makes me really
uncomfortable.  I cringe when people say "Bless you" to me when I sneeze.

  • What was the last song that was stuck in your head?  Ugh that terrible 90's song about the couple dancing and the dude gets an erection - "You're making it hard for me..."  I have no idea why.

  • Where do you live? Be as general or specific as you want.  Under the George Washington Bridge (on the Manhattan side!)

  • Do you believe in giving kids medals and trophies for participation?  Sure, why not?  Everyone gets a T-shirt for showing up.  Life is harsh.  Let there be participation ribbons.

  • What was the longest car ride you’ve ever taken?  The band trip to Florida in my Junior year of High School.

  • Have you ever taken part in a protest?  I had my photo in the paper for a protest to gain support for libraries!  I was 12.  I was pretty famous for a while.

  • Would you ever use an online dating service?  Sure, why not?

  • What is your ethnic heritage?  German/Polish/English/Everything.

  • Describe a person that inspires you. Eli is completely tireless.  He has boundless energy, creativity, is so kind, never bitter, and eternally compromising.  Everything I'm not!  But when I'm sobbing and moping because my life is so hard, it humbles me to think of all he does and I pull up my bootstraps and suck it up!

  • If you earn minimum wage doing what you love, would you?  If I loved it, truly loved it, it wouldn't be work.  In my mind.  The money would just be a bonus.  That's how I feel about doing the tours.  I enjoy telling the stories so much that I would probably do it for free!

  • Do you believe in luck?  Sure.  Some people are very lucky to be born wealthy and never have to do anything for themselves.  I'm not bitter!  Much.

  • Describe the last time you were very angry at someone.  I don't really get angry at people, more like circumstances.  I don't have a very good relationship with our Super, but he was very condescending about our required maintenance and too busy to help with easy things, soooo not that guy's biggest fan.  But then, he does probably have a lot on his plate, so who am I to judge?  That's the thing.  Quick to anger, quick to forget.

  • Do you want to live until you’re 100?  I want to live forever.

  • Do people change? If so, how do you keep a relationship together when both of you start to change?  I don't think people change in fundamental ways, just superficial ones.  If you love someone, you love them for who they are at the core.  It doesn't matter if their looks change or their circumstances change or opinions change.  If you want to love someone who will never change, you'd better invest in a Real Doll!  Sometimes the changes will shock you - and sometimes they open you up to new experiences, and the opportunity to reevaluate your own opinions.

  • Have you ever risked a friendship by telling someone you liked them?  Yes, and it did not go well.

  • Would you rather be alone doing something you enjoy, or doing something you don’t like with your best friends?  Certainly I'd rather do something I enjoy!  Right now, the solitude sounds awesome.  I'm just feeling rather put-upon lately.  But if you have to do something awful (laundry cough cough?), friends can certainly make it bearable!

  • Do you practice what you preach?  I'm really working on "tolerance."  Sometimes I lack patience with people when they're rude to me.  I just expect to be treated fairly according to the rules of common decency, which I not only preach but enforce whenever I can!

  • If you take precautions to stay safe, do you ultimately act more recklessly?  NO!  I wait for crossing signals, I buckle my seatbelt, I don't drink more than I can handle.

  • What do you value more in a significant other: Attractiveness or intelligence?  Plenty of attractive people in the world - intelligence is hard to come by!

  • Are you hard-headed?  Sooooo much.

  • Have you ever laughed uncontrollably when it was socially inappropriate?  I laugh all the time, I don't see anything wrong with it, but maybe other people do?  I laugh a lot when I'm at the movies, and something happens that is just SO lame and terrible, it just makes me laugh.  For example:  In the latest Twilight movie, when she announces her plan to name her daughter "Renesmee," I saw it coming but still couldn't help laughing!

  • When have you felt most alive?  Last night I was dozing off after work when the train rushed by and the breeze smacked me in the face to wake me up and I felt very invigorated...how about that?

  • Would you prefer to live? A city? The suburbs? The countryside? The mountains?  I would be happy living anywhere I had to, honestly.  I love this city so much, but if I had to live in the country, I would.  Or the suburbs.  Or the mountains.  Whatever it took.

  • Do you often skip breakfast?  No way!  Firm believer in breakfast is the most important meal.  Who knows if you'll get a chance to eat any other meals?  Might as well make this one count.

  • How do you know what true love is?  I don't think you can put a label on "true love", I think it's different for everybody.  And you can't really know until you realize you can't imagine life without them, you would be completely lost, and not just in a superficial way.  Directionless, and joyless.  And when you realize that all other company pales in comparison?  I don't know.  That's true love, I guess.

  • Would you want to know the exact date and time you were going to die?  Absolutely not!  No matter when it was, my death sentence would be constantly looming.

  • Where is “home” for you?  Anywhere I feel happy.  There are so many places I have felt at home.  Home is a feeling, to me.  Some places just feel like home, you know?  The feeling can grow over time, or stop abruptly.

  • What song best describes your life right now?  "Under Pressure" - Queen & David Bowie.

  • Do you want to be perfect?  Oh yes.  I put immense stress on myself to be perfect.  And most of the time, nobody notices the incredible effort I go to to be perfect.  So I have to learn to back down and pick my battles.

  • What have you never tried, but would really like to someday? What’s holding you back?  I would like to go clubbing.  I just need to find someone to go with!

  • How do you express your creativity?  Blogging, nail painting, makeup, dressing my way, making jokes, rapping about my adverse circumstances.

  • Describe your neighborhood.  Northern Manhattan up-and-coming bordering on severe ghetto.

  • Name something you only liked because it was popular.  I never like things simply because they're popular, rather, I tend to dislike things once they become popular!

  • Give me the story of your life in six words.  "My only true constant is change."
